Some conclusions on classification
* The mapping between vernacular names and scientific classification is reasonable but far from 100% . In particular,  certain species are merged that we would consider easily distinguished such as the potto and the angwantibo and the bushbuck and sitatunga. * On the other hand, close observation by hunters led to the identification of new (to the Delta or to science) species such as the red colobus or the pygmy hippo * In the case of fish, there are several cases of over-discrimination, whereby the different growth phases of a single species are given different names and apparently thought to be different species
