LINGUISTIC AND
ANTHROPOLOGICAL RESOURCES FOR IDU
The Idu language is also
known as Idu Mishmi and Luoba in Chinese sources. In archaic and ritual texts
as well as proverbs it is referred to as Kera’a, but this is not used in
everyday conversation. Idu is reduced from ‘Midu’ one of the regional names of
the Idu. Work on Idu has been conducted in conjunction with the Idu Language
Development Committee (ILDC) during the period 2015-2018. Scans of prior
publications on Idu are accessible on the linked pages.
